Happy Holidays!

Hello everyone!

I know, it's been a while. No excuses here, I often thought of making an update post but never really got to to it. So, first things first...

(Late) MEEEEEEEEEEERRY CHRISTMASS everyone!!! It's already 2 days passed that but better late than ever, right?? :P May the next year find us all healthy and filled with joy! :) (Oh, and less trolls on our games! ;) )

Secondly, a couple of announcements. First off, I hit a hundred ranked games a while back. I'm still stuck under 1400 elo, don't know if I'll ever ge through that but, won't hurt trying, will it??

Also, I managed to climb over my last Season's best (S2: 1357, S3: 1364). It's not much but it's a start to slowly work my way higher and higher. :P Well, if that keeps up, maybe I'll pass 1400 elo on season 7! :P :P

Oh! Update on the Dropbox Replay folder!! I managed to complete some milestones that Dropbox had so I was awarded with +25GB of storage for the next 2 years!! :D So, every game I play up to Season 5 (!!!) will be stored and available on my Public Dropbox Folder ! Still, if you can keep using the refferal link on the post below to make a DropBox account and help ourselves with +500MB of storage, it'll be really awesome! :D

Well, that's all for now! The Spreadsheet is growing, I added another graph to represent the Victory/Defeat variation in relation to my performance in each game but better head over to the sheet and watch the graph itself than having me talk about it here! :P

Update about replays!

Lately, League Replays encounters some server stability issues that made both uploading replays to their servers and accessing those replays a bit of a hustle. For this, I decided to give their servers some breathing room and not upload any more of my games on the League Replays servers.

In order to give you access to the replays of my games, I've set up a Dropbox account, which is a cloud server where you can access the replays I upload. It's not as easy to upload them as it was with the LoLReplay client but still, at least now I, and you, won't have to encounter any problems getting to the replay files.

Now, I would like to ask for a favor. You see, on their free license, DropBox gives out 2GB of storage. 6 win streak

I managed to get a 6 win streak yesterday and today, which rose my morale a bit. Unfortunately, like most of my streaks, it was short lived, only to be ruined not because I got stronger opponents, but from idiots on my team. People who go premade to either win or flame everyone else for their own failings. Oh well... I haven't given up hope yet, I truly want to believe that people will start behaving better on this game... Maybe... Someday...

1st ranked, 1st win!

I got the strangest present on my first ranked game in season 3. I joined a game and I seemed to recognize the names of my teammates. On second look, I saw that it was indeed two of my friends that have been playing together for a while, even while I am streaming. So, I called them on skype and pretty much new that this game would be great, even if we where on the losing side, we'd give them hell before we lose...

It didn't happen, We steamrolled on our opponents, getting kills after kills, giving our team a solid advantage. Still, even with a huge lead, our opponents didn't surrender and some sloppy and greedy plays enabled them to farm some items up and do a few good teamfights. At a moment, our support got DC'ed and we lost the 4v5 teamfight, costing us a tower and baron. But when he reconnected, we managed to easily pull it together, catch them off guard and overpower them. All in all, a good game with a nice (almost) turnaround!

Farewell Season 2...

...and welcome Pre-Season 3!!!

As of a few hours ago, Season 2 has officialy ended and the Preseason of the new one begun. The ranks got reset and the statistics where wiped clean, with past matches now hold their own card on our Profile's season history.

Many changes come with the new Season, with changes on the Masteries, Summoner Spells, items and a redesign of the jungle mechanics. Let's see how these changes will impact my progress on Season 3, will I make it to the higher ranks of the ladder or will I still remain at the same place I was for the previous 2 seasons?

Did some tweeking on the Livestream output today, I organized the information on one side of the video and left the screen region clear on the left, now slightly bigger than it was before. That annoying (for me) scroll text is gone and also did a more minimalistic but easier to read "Now Playing" section. The Chat region and web-cam region are bigger and easier to the eye too (I hope they are, a least).

Also, on Season 3 I'll be introducing a new feature to uphold the "diary" part of my blog. I created a spread sheet where I will record the results of my games in Season 3, something like an extended match history that will record all games (instead of just my last 10 games that PvP.net provides now), comming together with Average scores and an Elo Flunctuation Chart. Fun games

It's been quite a while since I post something here so, let's get back to it by posting two back to back games I played the other day that I enjoyed greatly!

The first one was a custom 5v5 game I was invited to play with friends. It was a semi-serious, semi-troll game that ended with one of the teams surrendering after 45+ minutes of pure fun! The laughs we had on skype is making this replay lack the spirit of it but check it out, it's totaly worth it! :)

The same day, right after the game, Panic invited me to a game with some other of his friends and the game begun. I failed horribly on mid (later realised that my opponent was a much higher elo player) but we managed to make an incredible comeback, after three consecutive Aces!!

Murder Bridge

Anyway, I was just hanging around the PC the other day, not really doing anything, when I got a game invite from Ravenworld. Since I wasn't doing anything at the time, I joined in. There was also Demorphic in the game, along other players I knew from the forums or the game. 5 minutes later, both teams where full so the murder begun!!

Meet Vivian Tricker!

First things first... Vivian Tricker is my girlfriend, she only recently grew fond of League of Legends and she never before had any intrest on it. Which means, she's as new as they come!

Now, do you remember the sweet old times when we where all bad players trying to learn a new game?? Well, this is where she is right now. After trying her luck with actual players (and, sadly, failing horribly) I advised her to hone her skills by playing games versus bots, until she feels comfortable enough to take on real people again.

Here she is, playing her favourite Miss Fortune against bots (Sadly enough, she's not as confident on herself as to have the camera on so, you don't get to see her playing... v_v )

World Championship underway!

Asians... Asians everywhere!!!

With Azubu Frost and NaGin Sword DOMINATING their Groups on the first day of the championship, we only have CLG.eu to move to the next round as every other team from North America or Europe got disqualified (SK Gaming, CLG.na, Team Dignitas). So, on the round of 8, we now have 1 remaning NA team (TSM), 2 European teams (M5 and CLG.eu) and !!!!5!!!! Asian teams (Azubu Frost, invictus Gaming, NaGin Sword, World Elite and Taipei Assassins). It will be an intresting Quarterfinals day today! :D

Silver IV! :D

Finaly!! After 4 days flitring with the Tier 4 medal, I finaly managed to win two games in a row and got my Silver 4 badge! Let's see if I'll be able to make it to Silver III before the season ends...! :)

Third day of streaming...

And up to now, I had every kind of bad players to play with. Leavers, feeders, even an idiot who instalocked Kha'Zix to play him for the first time on a ranked game... Of course, he failed...

Saddest part is that the ranking system is totally trolling me... 3 times now, 3 days in a row I get to get one game away from 1300 elo and the next tier medal, and 3 times I get some bad player that totaly ruins the game and then I need another 2, or maybe 3, games to make up for it again... Great...

All is fair in the world of Solo Q...

50 minutes game with epic comeback ----> +7 Elo cause one of the opponents was 1500+

20 minutes game playing 4v5 cause one of our teammates didn't even connect ----> -11 elo

Play with Greeks

...it will be fun!

And they say why Greek sucks at e-sports... With players like the last two I got, why should we be good at e-sports?? Going premade only for one to cover the other's mistake and together blame it on someone else... Go go go, let's flame people cause that's how you win games!!

Whatever... Too late now for another game... And every minute after 1.00 am brings you more and more ragers and tryhards. Won 2, lost 2 today... Pitty I had to play with such idiots but everytime I seemed to get a descent team, someone dodged. :( Well, better luck tomorrow.

Noc / Anivia combo

Once again, I got paired with an Anivia on a Solo Queue game... And the streak still holds. I don't know how much it is now... 8-0, 9-0... I don't remember, I'll have to come back at you with that! Anyway, noc/anivia combo still kickin'! :D

Edit: My last entry about the Noc/anivia combo was at 5-0... I'm sure I played at least one more game with the noc/anivia so now I'm at 7-0!! :D Hope this streak keeps up! :)

Moral of the day

Never trust a Master Yi pick in ranked games... NEVER!

Our last pick got Yi, three of us told him not to pick him. Our FIRST pick, his premade, told us to trust him and that he'll do good. He didn't... None of them did. They fed and fed and fed and even though I struggled, inside this feedfest to stay alive and farm as much as possible, these "players" kept putting the blame on me for not doing enough damage... I just didn't have a stomach for whiners and I ignored them, too bad it was too late and the game ended a few minutes later. :(

Oh well, got carried by a Rengar on the very next game, so no harm done! :) :)

30 minutes break

After winning two back to back ranked games, I had to dodge the third cause someone descided to troll the game since he didn't take the role he asked for... Well, let's jump into my smurf in EUW for some fun this 30 minutes I have to wait for the penalty time to wear off...!!  :)

Well, guess it's time for bed

Tried to power level my gf's account today... Only managed lvl 5 since servers went down for maintenance. Guess I'll be able to get at least lvl 10 by tomorrow.

Next thing in queue? Teach her how to actually play like a lvl 10 player! :P (even though, I'm still seeing bad players even at lvl 30, so she could just play a lvl 10 game for the first time ever and still be better than other players on that game! :P )

Win some, lose some

Played a variety of champions today, some went well, some (the olaf one! :P )didn't... Well, I never thought I'd go on a winning spree, even though it WOULD be nice to have one for a change. Oh well, maybe better luck next time.

Oh, by the way... I'll be gone for the comming three days, so no more games for this weekend... See ya all next week! :)

Best game ever! :P

First time I played Olaf and it was on a ranked game! :P Of course, I failed misserably! 0/10/3 (or something, don't really remember)... Funny part was the rage kids that where flaming me and asking reports for my poor playing. I know I didn't break any rules (exept of being unskilled) so I'm not afrain of being punished or anything. But they gave me enough flames to deserve a place on the Tribunal! :) Was one of the "enjoyable" losses! :)

Been away for a while

I was kinda busy lately with many things, one of which was the Balcan League weekend, for which I'll make a full review one of the comming days. I think I'll be able to have 2-3 hours daily from now on so I can finaly begin streaming, I'll try it first and then I'll make an anouncement if I find it suitable to my programme. Hopefully, an announcement on the official LoL forums will be enough to get a few visitors to the blog and the stream! :P Hope I don't dissapoint! But more on that later...

Matchmaker keeps trolling

Getting teammates with less than 10 ranked games for me to carry on higher elos... Of course, when one of them goes 0/15/3 and has less than 40 cs after 40 minutes of game, that's kindda impossible, don't you think??

The Jungler is back!

Well, at least I hope I am! I'm doing some pretty good games lately, even though I still don't feel as confident as before. Anyway, I need to practice jungling more and more and more if I want to be really really good at it! :)

Last game: Nocturne 3/5/13

I played bad and I feel bad...

Lately I found myself playing way better on lanes rather than jungling (that time that I couldn't play cause of my PC failure did a number on me, it seems) so I picked up Ashe for another game yesterday... Sadly enough, I blew it... I only managed a 1/6/6 score early game and even though I managed to catch up a bit later on, the damage was done, as the opponents where pretty much fed already and snowballed us into submission. I finished the game with a score of 8/12/17, which isn't a "bad" score in terms of absolute numbers but I really think that we lost the game because of me.

What I mean to say is that, for the last couple of years (since I figured out how the ladder system works) I was thinking that the ranking system is faulty. And, yesterday, I totaly felt like I brought the rest of my team down with me. It's unfair for everyone to lose their hard earned Elo points just because one player on the team didn't perform as expected. Not that it was the first time this happened and every other game I played perfect, far from it. Just that since individual performance matters to the outcome of the game, you just can't be ranked for the team's performance...

Just putting it out there, I feel really bad for that loss, even though I won the very next game with Cait with a much much better score than the one with Ashe (10/3/11). I did bad and I should feel bad. And I WILL get better, I WANT to get better!!

That's all for now, I should mention the new layout I designed for my livestream (now WITH a live feed camera!! ^_^) but I guess you should catch me streaming sometime to take a look at it! A year and 4 days! ^_^

I got my PC to work fine once more!! Even got an SSD drive to make it even faster than before, but I didn't get on setting it up yet! Anyway, my PC is fine once more and I can return to the League!

Also, 4 days ago, my blog turned 1! Yey! :D 148 posts and more than 4.500 blog views came this year! This sums up to almost 1 post every 2 and a half days and 12 blog views daily! :) Other from Greece, people from Russia, USA, Sweden, Poland, Finland, Romania, Denmark, Germany and Croatia visited my blog for 899 views! Whoever you are, thank you! :) Let's see if I can manage to get some more impressive stats this year! :)

Can't play... :(

Apparently, LoL uses up too much of my CPU and, combined with the environmental summer heat, it tends to overheat and crash my PC... I took some measures to prevent that from happening (removing the lid from my PC case, moving the case to an easier ventilated place, increasing the fan RPM etc) but still, my benchmarks show no reduction to CPU temperature when the CPU is stressed... Guess unless the weather itself cools off, no League of Legends for me...

...In less than 3 days... Seems like all the raging kids are out playing LoL these days... I only had a couple of descent games with no flaming and raging and these where the only games I managed to win, the rest where just people that thought that chatting was more important than playing the game itself.

New High Score!!

After more than 500 games, I managed to get my new high score in ranked, passing the previous one by a whole 1 point! (from 1356). Hope this trend keeps up and I can even touch the 1400 elo barrier! :D Silver medal, here I come! :D

My LoL Diary goes to Athens, Part 4: The After-Party

After the crowd cleared out, what was left was wreckage! Unfortunately, these barbarians destroyed everything in sight, just out of frustration that they couldn't get in. Anyway, here's a shot of what was left in the lobby of the place holding the event.

After seeing my friends off, I still felt I had unfinished business. You see, before the event I was talking with RavenWorld and Panic and both of them said to me "See you there"... So, I couldn't just leave after traveling this far without saying at least "hello"! So, I headed straight back inside in order to complete my journey!

What I found inside was clearly better than what I left behind me a while ago. Lot less crowd, lot less noise and much more comfort! 

But... Everyone on stage was busy doing this and that and the people still in the room had camped the front lines so I couldn't possibly get close myself. So, I took the chance for a few more photos and, since I didn't know how long this was going to last and if they suddenly tell us to leave in order to close the room down, THE PHREAK was my prime target! I got as close to him as I could while he was signing autographs and taking pictures with the fans. I could even touch him if I just stretched my arm out, it was the closest I have EVER been to a LoL celebrity like David.

Of course, another thing that caught my eye was his gaming laptop, the one he used to stream the games played on the Event. So, no chance is missed! :D

After a while, the crowd started to thin out and I managed to get near the stage. I looked around for Raven or Panic but I saw them on the other side of the stage, talking to fans. Time was getting late and I almost thought that this would be my last chance I'd get this evening (little that I knew at the time) but I couldn't really do anything about it from where I was standing.

Bless my stars, Raven came my way, as if she knew I was waiting for her to come. I called out her name and she heard me, came closer and I introduced myself. She thanked me for coming all the way to the event and I was pretty complete just with that. I was ready to just walk away and leave (since Panic was still lingering on the other side of the stage) when the unthinkable happened. Raven gave me a piece of paper and a pen and told me "Write down your number and stick around. If I lose you in the crowd, I'll call you to meet up with us and talk later, ok?" .... My hand shook while I was scribbling down my phone number. I nodded "ok" and walked back from the stage.

For the next half hour or so, I was wondering if I wrote down my phone number correctly or not. I also begun to frantically check my phone every now and then to check for reception. It wasn't needed though. Thankfully, the staff that was cleaning the room just ignored our presence there and as the crowd grew even thinner, Rioters started getting off the stage as well. First I went and said a "hello" at Demorphic but then I noticed Panic sitting around and I had the best chance to introduce myself to him as well.

He was really happy I came and introduced myself, he even said he was looking forward to meeting me. I couldn't say I wasn't feeling the same things! We chatted for a while, mostly about the events that occurred outside the Event area and he told me they didn't expect THAT many people to be present. I could only agree to that, I myself was surprised. I asked him if Riot intended to visit again at the International Fare of Thessaloniki and, to my delight, he said yes! (September is coming fast! :D)

In any case, only a few people where still around the stage, with most of them camping around Phreak, asking him all shorts of questions about LoL. David didn't hesitate to answer anything about anything. Even when people asked him why do they always get noobs on their teams and elo hell, he just laughed and tried to explain as much as he could what went on. Here are Zahariel and Saxo from team inS, discussing stuff with Phreak.

I also talked with Phreak about lots of stuff, like how to improve the Solo Q ladder, how the New Eve and New Twitch would fare in correspondence to their older counterparts, he told us about a few upcoming nerfs to Kassadin and Nocturne and why they decided to make these changes (these changes you can see on the Zyra patch notes) and many other stuff. But, I couldn't stick around David all night long. I had more people to see and talk too. So, after talking once more with RaverWorld and meeting other people I only knew from the game and never met in person (hi Aelian! ;) ) I even got to talk with the casting crew of cowboy.tv. It must have been 2 or 3 hours already since the event ended but THIS part of the event was the BEST one. Getting pictures of and with the Rioters, was, of course, the cherry on the cake!

Some people left the event with gift bags, some left with Riot codes to redeem, some left with T-shirts and Teemo hats... I left the Event with the best price of all! New friends! :D

- People outside saying "omg, I'm 2k elo and I'm surrounded by noobs. I should be inside, not out here with the retards"... Well, after the 3rd or 4th time I heard this quote, I turned around and told him "That's it, I'm reporting you!". Thankfully, he reacted better than I would expect someone would in-game and we burst out in laughter.

- At some point, RavenWorld picked up a few spare Teemo Hats and handed them around to those that where still around. I respectfully declined the hat as it would look ridiculous on me. I regreted it the moment I told this story to my gf (she loves hats, any type of hat)... Please brink some hats when you come to I.F.T plz!! :D

- While discussing with Phreak, I asked him a very simple Question. "Will Annie EVER grow up?" This is the ACTUAL discussion that followed: 

Me: "So, will Annie ever grow up?"

David: "What are you talking about, she's 8"

Me: "That's exactly what I'm talking about, the game is out for 2 years and she's still 8"

David: "No, you're wrong. Annie was 6 when the game came out"

Me: "Still, noone said anything about Annie growing up. Why don't you put it on the patch notes"

David: *laughs* "Like, Annie... Age now increased from 8 to 9"

Me: "Exactly, it would be a great humoristic adition to the patch notes"

David: *still laughing* "I.... I actually support this, I'll forward it when I get back to L.A."

Riot, if I EVER see the line "Age now increased from 8 to 9" it will be the GREATEST, I mean the GREATEST gift I could ever receive from you. EVER!!

My LoL Diary goes to Athens, Part 3: The Finals

  Then the miracle happened! Nifhelorz's brother called again and told us the doors where open for everyone! We kinda didn't believe it at first and we where not really considering going back but since the Metro we would get to go back was passing by the one the event was at, we decided to give it another go!

  We got to the place again and, oh my God, the doors where wide open! We got inside and where confronted by the largest crowd ever, I couldn't even dare to assume how many people where in that place. I just took up my camera and took a picture of it...

  Sadly, the place was dark and the flash of my camera was ruining the pictures. I tried to save them all I could but all I can do is apologize for the bad quality... You see, I intended to get my tripod with me but I forgot it in my car on my way to the train station this morning. So, flash-less photos where a total disappointment...

  In any way, by the time we arrived at the event, the Grand Final was already on it's way, well over 20 minutes! The battle was fierce and the crowd was roaring and cheering whenever possible. We tried to get to the higher platforms of the building to get a better overall view of the match and found a comfy spot where we stayed for the rest of the event.

  The first game of the finals went on for 52 minutes so, it wasn't such a disappointment. And the whole atmosphere was electrified, with all the dim and colorful lights. I managed to capture some of it in video!

  The second game started really intense but didn't live up to the first one. It ended kind of fast, with "Test Your Limits" coming on top and winning the Event Tournament.

The event was over... But lucky for me, the best part is yet to come!

My LoL Diary goes to Athens, Part 2: The Event

The event was AWESOME!

  Or so I heard, we didn't manage to get inside in the first place... As it appears, the building was too small to house ALL the fans that came to the event so, many people where forced to be left outside when the doors leading inside where closed shut. We decided to stick around a little longer in case it was some kind of misunderstanding (people in front where behaving really bad, breaking down the doors and throwing stuff at the event managers), but it seemed that our fear was true. The event was full, no-one else was getting in.

  So, with no further delay, we got off the crowd and went to chill out to a nearby cafe for a chill glass of ice coffee. It was rather stupid to just stay and wait under the scorching sun for a miracle to happen, so we decided to let some time pass and try the event later, in case something changed. Sadly, that didn't happen either...

  Only seconds after we sat down at the cafe, Nifhelorz's brother who managed to get in the event called him and told him they opened another door on the side and we could probably get inside from there. With hope restored, we went back at the Event once more. The crowd was significantly smaller this time but still, we didn't find any way in as the side doors where only opened as access to the underground garage and nothing more. We heard a rumor that the doors would open in a few minutes so we stuck around again (at least we where at the hall of the building which had air conditioning, so it was a bearable wait, but still, no doors where opening. Finally, we decided to call it quits and leave the event all-together...

  As plan B, (in case anything went wrong with the event), the guys told me of a board-game cafe that was only a few stops away with the Metro train, so we finally managed to get that long desired coffee! I must admit that I only visited a place like that once before in my life but that time was not nearly as fun as this one! From Gladiator's drink to beating 2.2 elo players on board games, the time we spend there was awesome! And because they have been busting my balls for a couple of days to post the photos from that time, here they are...!!

My LoL Diary goes to Athens, Part 1: Arrival

  It all begun as an idea... I had many friends playing League of Legends that I'd like to meet in person so, I really wanted to do this trip at some time. And the Riot Event was a great excuse for me! So, even though I had quite a few things to attend to, I managed to make time and go to Athens!

  After a 5 hour long journey by train through half Greece (a pleasant journey that is, thanks to the beautiful co-travelers Elisabeth and Christina) I finally arrived at Athens! And after settling down on my hotel room, I set off to find my friends! So I got into a cab and arrived at the meeting spot. My friends John (Bombastrelopas) and Constantine (Gladiator) came shortly after. Upon meeting them, I figured out it was the perfect opportunity to settle the score between me and Gladiator as to who is the best support player in LoL... I used all my persuasive skills for that and...

...no, I couldn't convince him... *sad face*

Anyway, after meeting up with the rest of the gang, we set off towards the Event, which was held a little further... We started as a small company of people...

(Gladiator, Bombastrelopas, Mitsoloth, Nifhelorz)

..but as we drew closer and closer, the more people started gathering on the way...

Finally, we reached the outside of the building where the event was being held. And the crowd that was already there waiting was unimaginable! These few pieces of information is lacking to actually show how many people where there, waiting to attend the event!

Still, we joined the rest of the League fans and took our turn in waiting for the event to begin...!!

To Athens and back again!

What a weekend! Travelling ~400 km by train for the first League of Legends MAJOR event in Hellas that didn't quite go as expected...! I will take some time to get the photos and videos off my cameras but then I'll come back and describe in detail my experience from the event!

I'll separate the post in parts cause I don't want to make one huge wall and so readers may want to skip some parts that doesn't interest them.

I had to post this one!

The teams where descent champion-wise... But this game isn't about the champions now, is it?

That Nasus top versus Warwick didn't feel well. So, I tried to make a quick gank top to give a slight advantage to my teammate but I didn't manage to level up to 3 so I can get the fear and we missed the first blood, which was taken seconds after by the enemy bottom lane. It, kinda, went south the rest of the game, with my teammates trying to get kills but dying in the process, and me roaming around the map, helping wherever I can. Then Warwick left his lane and things went bad. Nasus remained to free farm, I think, I bit too long while the enemy team pushed here and there, tower diving and killing us on every turn. Our team's focus was horrible, focusing down their Taric and Warwick most of the time, often killing all except the two carries! Flames and blames started erupting on our side and the first surrender vote wasn't late to come...

Taking the lead, I managed to bait the opponents on a "last stand" type of fight on the dragon area. We managed to pull that nicely and got our first Ace. Then got dragon and regrouped. It was a nice breath not because we got some extra gold but because we knew we could take them. That fight wasn't a fluke, the opponents came in full force but we managed to ace them. We got a couple of roaming kills afterwards and then we got their jungler as he failed to initiate a teamfight. With Udyr gone, leaving their team without a heavy tank and no smite, I pinged Baron. But Nasus had the brightest idea EVER to go pick up our Red Buff... Still wondering why he did that. With him gone and me not as tanky as I would want to be, the enemies engaged us on a 4v4 teamfight which we lost badly and gave away the free baron. The flames and blames got more intense, everyone blaming anyone with just me trying to keep the team together and fight it out. I gave up and wanting to at least play the rest of the game in peace, I just ignored them all.

Best 5-10 minutes of the game! With no pings being spammed here and there, no flames and no shouts, I (can't talk about the rest of the team) focused on the fight and little by little we pushed them back. Baron respawned, we got him, pushed and won...

I wonder what would happen if I didn't ignore my teammates... Would we still win?

Two things about the replay...

2shared asked me to create an account to upload the replay (still can't upload with LoLReplay, don't know if it's general or just me...). I don't know if it asks for you to create an account too in order to download the replay but if it does, I'm sorry for the inconvenience (still, it's easy and free to make an account if you still want to).

Also, I recorded the replay on Spectator mode, hopefully all my replays will be on Spectator mode. I still don't know how the .lrf and .lrs files work though so it MAY appear on Spec mode for you or maybe not... I hope it does!

4.000+!!

More than 4k views on my blog, a little over 10 months after I created it! All I can say is a huge THANK YOU to everyone that has bookmarked or is following this blog and an even bigger SORRY for the lack of content that plagues the blog the last few months. I can't make any promisses that I'll pick it up or anything but really, thank you very very much for the support! 

About the Livestream

Yeah, yeah... I know I've been bugging all of you about the livestream but there's a couple of reasons I still havn't gotten around to it yet...

First of all, I got the Black Screen issue again, it's probably because own3d has changed it's format and I havn't contacted support to resolve it yet. So, right now, even if I DO stream, you'll probably see the "Live" indicator but nothing on the stream... But that's the easy part...

Secondly, my free time is a MESS... Some days I have lots of time to play video games, others I have none. I'm currently at a point where a lot of things are happening simultaneously in my life (both important and insignificant) and I HAVE to set priorities (and, frankly, League of Legends just cannot be my first priority...) Again, I'd like to set the stream up, mostly because of the great experience I had the first time I tested the stream and the awesome people I met that day, so that gives me hope. But again, if I don't manage to settle down to a more stable schedule, I don't think I can bring myself to begin a streaming channel.

There's also the bandwidth issue, which is the only "technical" problem I cannot solve from my part. As of late 2011, I own a PC that can stream in HD without CPU lag. But there is NO ISP in Greece that provides more than 1 Mbit Upload speed, so I can only stream in lower quality in order not to "suffocate" the line. My only hope lies on a communication firm from Cyprus that provides services in major Greek cities that give up to 4 MBit upload but the odds to have my town added to their netowork is REALY slim... Still, one can only hope! ^^

An update

Some times this game gets the best of me... Yesterday evening I couldn't even sleep cause I was thinking about what I could possibly have done better to win my last couple of games. I forced myself to realise that it IS just a game and winning or losing shouldn't influence me this much, especially since I have to wake up early each day to get to work. Still, being a competitive person, I always want to get better and better on anything I do, not just League of Legends.

So, yesterday was kind of a strange day. On the couple of games I played in the afternoon, without much effort from either me or my team, we managed to easily win them (28-13 on the first and 28-6 on the second). Then, after going out with friends I thought that it would be nice, with a clear mind and all, to continue my win streak. Didn't happen.

First game got second to last pick but I offered to take support as our last pick didn't want to and I wanted to keep the spirits of the team up. Little I knew at the time, since ALL of the team failed and I wasn't in any position to help the team in any way. Our jungler just farmed on a far away land while we where trying to get objectives, our carry couldn't farm because the opponent jungler camped our lane and our mid-laner, after giving us the "which one of you is gonna feed them and ruin my game" was getting killed over and over again, ending with the most deaths on the team. The surrender was swift...

That's ok though, it's a risk I always know it's there whenever I play support so I tried my luck another time, getting a jungler again, which I'm practicing a lot lately as it seems to be best at it over other roles, and managed to give my team a great early lead, shutting down COMPLETELY their jungler and having their carries out-farmed and asking for reports... I don't know if that was a mistake on my part to leave top lane alone but, since their jungler was strugling to get some farm and was really weak up to mid game, his ganks where next to useless. So, our top was happy farming while we destroyed the other two lanes. Then everything turned south... Me and our carry started doing dragon and, even though our support and mid where right beside us, they descided to hunt down the 1/2 HP enemy support instead of helping us with the dragon, ending up with me taken down by their sneaky jungler and the two that where chasing to get cought in the enemy jungle and get killed. We lost 3 towers right then. After that, it was a facepalm fest... Their support and top lane went full tank and had no damage to be an actual threat. So I orchestrated a teamfight by ward placement and routing my team through the jungle in order to get ourselves behind the tanks and get their carries first. We pulled it of nicely, got 4 of them and while the other 4 where chasing the last remaining tank, I managed to have them stop chasing and do a quick Baron. All was fine and well and, even though we where behind in towers, I thought my team had realised how easy it was to win the game... Again, I THOUGHT! For the love of God, I have NEVER seen another team so EAGER to drop a tank in battle and not focus down carries. I died over and over by diving into their carries, managing to kill one of them each time, but the other killed me because I was all alone back there! Each time, I was watching the tank clean up the mess, and walk away with 1/4 or 1/3 HP. I tried to coordinate the team once more to focus down the carries first but by the time my teammates realised how simple that was (they didn't have a tank to taunt them or have a strong Croud Control skill, he was just a meat-bag that my team loved to hit), their carries got defensive items and managed to finish off our carries first. 47 minutes wasted just because people have NO IDEA about mid/late-game...

Oh well, I seriously doubt that I'll find teammates that know what is important and what's not in this game. Every teen that plays League of Legends thinks that if he's good at 1v1, he's good overall! And that's why I can get easy early leads, ALL these players know how to 1v1 and with my help, they dominate their lanes. But then they get all greedy and throw games like that above... I won't call them "noobs", I just wonder what more "I" can do to overcome such dificulties...

Duo Queues

They just don't treat me good at all.... Played three duo queue games with a friend of mine that we play a LOT together, only to get troll teammates and premades our two first games and I had to carry the third so I can gain back some of the lost Elo. Oh well, maybe some point, luck will turn around and premades will treat me better than Solo Queue...

Absent again!

Actually, I've been quite hooked up with Diablo 3 all these days and didn't play any games on League for this time (I barely have time for one game in my life... v_v ). Anyway, I'm expecting the Darius patch to come live and I'll play some more! Just giving a hail so people know that I'm still around! :D

Power Failure

Played two GOD AWFUL games last night... First of all, I couldn't farm at all like I wanted and secondly, playing through a thunderstorm wasn't the brightest idea... A power failure ruined my first game and, even though we would still have a chance when I got back, my team had no idea if I was comming back or not so they tried to push on, giving some free kills to the opponents so when I got back, I lost the hard worked early lead I got. Also, a bad baron call at the 29th minute after a 4-1 teamfight gave them an unworthy advantage which they used to push and win the game...

Second game started bad. Our top lane was nothing short of bad, having a 0/4/0 score at 10 minutes, dragging me (as a jungler) to a 0/2/0 score when I tried to gank his lane but he didn't help me and I died to an already fed Riven. Even though the rest of their team was bad, even winning a teamfight 4-0, that Riven just came by, got a Quadra Kill (and later the ace and unofficial Penta), and just carried the game. Another power shortage caused my PC to shut down short before losing the game and I didn't bother turning it on again and went to sleep.

Hopefully I will be able to make up for these loses at some time...

Another descent game

Very nice team I got, no flaming at all, overall a nice game!

Team picks:

My team realized pretty early that Katarina's ulti would be a problem and, even though we failed at killing her a couple of times early and having her fed, we managed to stop her and force her to build armor instead of more damage. A few spot on ganks on top lane let our Warwick free farm and generally, it turned out to be a pretty one sided game. After we got the third dragon and getting another 2 kills on the next teamfight, our enemies surrendered while we where doing baron.

I can't say for sure what was happening on the other team but on our team, the chat was all sweets and candies. Giving away buffs as a jungler not only helps your teammates play better, it also improves inter-team communication and attitude.It's not that I don't need the buffs myself, just that getting a "thanks" for handing it over to a teammate is usually more rewarding than being selfish...

How I separate myself from the others...

This game is a good example of what my goals are when I play games...

Team picks:

We did a great start, stealing part of their jungle, getting a few early kills and generally getting in the lead early. Too bad our Wu was short tempered and when he got talked back by our Fizz, he threatened with afk, making us lose a fight under our top tower. That and a rather bad Graves that kept dashing on the front, getting caught by their WW, made the opponents even take the lead in score. Me and Janna managed to talk Fizz and Wu to calm down and play together and, in junction with their REALLY bad Warwick, we managed to win the game.

The game lasted almost 50 minutes. On this game, EVERYONE was dying again and again. They would get a killing spree and then lose it by diving. I don't do that. My goal while playing games was and will always be to do my best, while dying the least. And I believe this game is a perfect example, where I was the only one with single digits on my death score but still have a good kill/assist score and a descent (towards bad, I could have done VERY much better at that) creep score. Blog tweaking

I did some tweaking here and there on the blog today, mainly wanting to remove the text below the Title as it wasn't actually "representing" what the blog turned out to be! :P Anyway, spent some time on Photoshop and this is the new Title logo, up there! ^^

Spectator Mode is Live!!

And it's awesome!! I just spent my whole morning at work spectating games from friends and then commenting about them! Hint/tip: Open the PvP.net client from the system tray icons so you can Alt-Tab to it and send a message to your friend and/or see if he sends a message after his game ends (as you're 3 mins behind and it will take you this much time to realize that the game ended! ;) )

Anyway, feel free to spectate any of my games, still working on setting up a proper stream though! :)

All in all, Spectating = High Quality stream with many more goodies! If you're watching my stream and have me on your Friend List, just hop on as a spectator, it's way more awesome! :D

Sorry I didn't post it sooner, was kindda busy with the Diablo 3 Open Beta this weekend!! :P

We lost our game to Meta Gamin 2-0... They whern't the solidest team out there, we even managed to squeeze off some kills on them, but they got the wins out of seer experience, something we lack as a team and as individuals.

Greek Alliance Team vs. Meta Gamin

Today we will have our first match of the Athens Gaming Forum, League of Legends Tournament, hosted by cowboytv.gr, where we meet the team Meta Gamin after passing by default win to the round of 32.

The game is set to start at 18.00 (GMT +2) and will be a best of 3, meaning at least 2 games will be played. I'll stream our struggle to victory so be there to cheer us up (or laugh at our fails! :D )

Greek Alliance Team

Me and some friends started this team thingie where we meet up and play a few games together. A few days ago, we decided to make a Ranked team out of it, and named it "Greek Alliance Team". Today we sat down and created a logo for the team too...

I finaly got to pick Kassadin for a ranked game!! Yey!! :D


So, the opponents picked Fizz to counter me... He's a good counter, I should say. But I don't know if the guy was inexperienced or anything, he dived me under my tower to do some damage, then used playful/trickster to get out and when he landed I just went R+Q+E on him, got half his HP and push him out of the lane. I farmed more than him even though I left my lane in more than one occasion to gank my sidelanes. The game was won because their top laner left the game but on end-game chat, Fizz and their Graves started QQing about how the lost the game due to Riven and they won every other lane exept top lane. 


I asked to know how I lost my lane since I was 0/0/2 early game while he was 0/1/0 (before riven left), I survived a pre-6 gank from their Alistair but Fizz said "omg, I always won 1v1 vs you"... I know it's just him QQing and not seeing that he did bad but is there maybe something I'm not seeing here?? :/

Back on track...!!

Finally, after a long time dwelling on the brink of falling below 1k elo, I managed to pass over 1.3k once more! From this point on, I'll start posting my games again!

I also created a new tab with the stats with my most played champions (for those who may not have access to these stats on my profile). I don't update that tab after every game so check back for new updates. I usually update it when I update the "Current Stats" tab on the right...

I pushed back the streaming idea for a while, until I finally get a standard streaming schedule. I'll let everyone know in time when that happens (hopefully before summer! :P)

Story of every game @~1100 elo

Every game, I mean EVERY SINGLE one is one sided. Totally! And I'm not saying that the opponents take the lead in score and keep it till the end. I mean that one team fails soooo hard that the others seem to take a free win. I just had a game that I was on the winning team. I did 8/0/14 with Sona, having support items!! I mean, ok... I know I can perform somewhat good with her but THAT?

Scores like this are misleading. People that don't know their champs find themselves in team like the one I was, win the game with a descent score and then they feel they can own anything and everyone! I practically carried the last game as my teammates died to underfarmed opponents every time I was missing. Yet, I'm sure they will join another game and pick the same champs, feeling that they're good with them, basically ruining someone's game...

And that brings me back to the very top of this post where I said that games at this elo are totally one sided...

It's been a while...

I realised lately that I'm not that good with certain champions and than probably was the reason I droped so much in my elo. Currently at 1158 elo, I need to practice some more to get acuanted with the new jungle and other changes that happened lately. I'll try a few ranekd games every now and then but I'll mostly focus on practicing before I tryhard on ranked again...

Just a cool story bro...

So, I'm enjoying my life at bottom lane, farming the universe and harashing the opponents like a boss, already having twice the creep score than the enemy Kog'maw and sending him back to base every turn. I'm pushing the opponents under their tower so they can lose even more creeps and I'm feeling good about this game.

Then our jungler goes "HURR DURR, Imma gank bot"... He comes all the way down a warded river, runs up to the tower, dives the enemy taric and with my help we get him down. We also get Kog'maw who just came back to the lane. But, guess what! Their mid and jungler saw him comming and counter ganked us! And when Malph dies, goes "wtf Cait, why no help?"

Because elo hell DOES NOT exist...

Fuck this, I'm bored...

I really don't have ANY courage left to describe how low a player is to lead his hard trying team to losing a sure match just because he lacks a big part of his/her brain... After an hour and 6 minutes of playing time, this is just pointless...

I'll post more games when I get some inspiration back. Until then, I'll just enjoy life!!

Yey, best year ever...!!

If I can't win games like this, then this will be a fucked up year...

Our start was awesome. We got kills here and there and got a good 8-1 lead from early in the game. But then it was when all the kids that I had for teammates got really greedy. Fighting 1v3 and 1v4 fights, fighting 3v4/5 teamfights and such gave our opponents kill after kill until, not only they closed the gap we had, they outfarmed and out played us in every way. Only our Miss Fortune was doing good, having good positioning in fights and pulling away when danger appeared. My CV's where mostly spot on and I warded the world every time I could. But my team didn't support me at all and I was getting caught time and time again while I was searching for enemy wards. This and a REALLY bad Wukong that fed like hell led to one more loss. And with that, I stop playing support until I'm well over 1400 elo...
